The rapid just before the bridge in the middle of the gorge is a III+. But by MW to HW, there is a violent eddy from which it is very difficult to swim out. Since there was an accident, some metallic bars have been placed in the eddy so that a swimmer could grab them. But it is still impossible for a swimmer to go out without an outside help.

The picture was taken by HW from the bridge.There is too much water to see it properly but when the water is lower, the violent eddy is located where the arrow is.

Sur le rapide juste en aval de la passerelle du milieu des gorges, pas très difficile en 3+, par moyennes à hautes eaux il se forme un "contre-prison" dont il est très difficile de s'extraire à la nage une fois dedans. Depuis un accident des barreaux ont installé pour permettre de s’agripper mais ça ne permet pas de sortir de la gorge sans aide extérieure.

Photo prise par fortes eaux depuis la passerelle, il y a trop d'eau pour se rendre compte mais par plus bas niveau le "contre-prison" est localisé au niveau de la flèche.

The Tines gorges entrance has been rehabilitated this year and is much easier than before. The difficulty level at the gorges entrance is III+ to IV+ depending on the water level. By high water levels, in the 1st part of the gorges a 0,5m drop can appear, with a very dangerous backwash where it is not possible to set safety. It can be scouted from the bridge which is in the middle of the gorges.


L'entrée des Gorges de Tines a été réaménagée cet année et passe mieux qu'avant, la difficulté à l'entrée des gorges est de 3+ à 4+ suivant niveau. Par hautes eaux dans la 1ère partie des gorges, à un endroit où les falaises se resserrent il peut se former un seuil de 0,5 m où ça retient derrière (rappel) sans possibilité de le sécuriser. Il est repérable depuis la passerelle du milieu des gorges.
