West Tarkio Watershed Priority AreaContact Activity: Alternative for tile intakes on terraced land Geographic location: West Tarkio Watershed Priority Area, which is the upper part of the West Tarkio Watershed (32,800 acres in size). Brief activity description: A demonstration on “Buried Intakes for Terraces” is being done as a part of the West Tarkio Watershed Priority Area Project. The demonstration is designed to help evaluate practical ways to reduce the potential direct route of pesticides and fertilizers from entering surface water through the terrace tiles lines.
