Brief activity description: River Alliance works to develop capacity of the 150+ local watershed and river friends groups in WI; advocates for policies that protect rivers and challenges policies that degrade them; and restores rivers through dam removal and urban river revitalization.

Projected outcomes/impacts, if known: Increase funding for agricultural non-point pollution control in 2007; increase by 50% the number of citizens and groups monitoring rivers and streams by 2008; improve riverfronts in 2-3 river cities; remove 2-3 small, uneconomic, ecologically damaging dams per year.
